Changelog for version 1.2

Happy New Year's Eve!!

Here's the update I promised, right before the end of the year! I hope all those pesky bugs are now fixed: I'll open a fixed post here on the itchio page, where you can send any other thing you find that needs to be fixed (although let's cross our fingers so that isn't necessary).

I'm not sure if this new version will be compatible with your saves; it should be, but anyway, if you previously found errors in your gameplay, it would be advisable to uninstall the previous version and delete the folder on C/: user/AppData/Roaming/Renpy/NightandDay, before installing the new version 1.2. Remember you can use the "Skip" option to progress quickly to your previous point in the game in case you need to start anew.

Changelog:

- The Open Dyslexic font has been adjusted to the right size so the text always fits the textbox.

- The "return" button on the close-up images of the gallery has been moved to the bottom right corner and simplified to just black letters without a background, so it doesn't distract from the images.

- Added an in-game warning when there are only two weeks left to finish the game (as Paul's internal monologue, to be as little intrusive as possible).

- Removed a potentially offensive sentence.

- Added a short afterscene for Emile's intimate scene.

- Checked all the instances where Ferdinand's route might have inconsistencies after March 9.

- Made the dates screen disappear if the player decides not to select anything.

- Lowered two points in the requirements to successfully join the exhibition.

- Added extra days, April 4th to 9th, so the players have more days to go on dates, give presents, and get all the scenes with the love interest that lead to the good ending.

- Added three minigames.

I think that's all! As you can see, I haven't been idle this past month XDD

The "Routes Guide" will be updated with the changes next ;)

Thank you so muuuch. Despite the holidays you took the time to make changes for us, thank you.  T__T   <3 I uninstalled the game and deleted the folder you recommended above. Played Emile again. I got the good end, Yves agreed to my dealer, I attended two shows, and won the 1ts place, so it seems I did everything correctly?

Noticed a few things though.

1 - The guide says it doesn't effect Emile's route if you ask Ferdinand on a date but during my gameplay it definitely did. It completely closed off the option to check on Bernard or even go to the café in the evenings at all. I redid the route making the exact same choices except choosing not to ask Ferdinand out the several times it prompts, and I was able to check on Bernard and also visit his café in the evenings for week 4.

2 - In the extra scene after Emile's love scene, Emile's body zoomed in from his neck to his thighs shows in the screen the entire time. Bug?

3 - You mentioned above that you added some days in April to go on dates and give gifts. My game play still ended in March. I was only prompted to give gifts twice, and I got Emile to agree to go on all four dates with Paul but my gameplay only showed the Louvre and dinner.

Starting with the sixth week I basically stuck with flower shop in the mornings, riverbank in the afternoon, and club at night. Should I have chosen differently?

Again, thank you so much for making it easier.

I forgot to mention,  Paul asked Emile out on dates that same week Emile accidentally punched his shoulder. Emile said yes to the Louvre, and then a couple more days went by and he said yes when Paul invited him to dinner. Then a couple more days went by and he said yes to the Eiffel tower, a couple more days would go by and he said yes to the other place (started with M?). Several days passed after that, and randomly they went to the Louvre. Then a few more days went by, and they went to dinner. Then it was the good end scene and the art show. I was prompted to give gifts once at the river bank soon after the art dealer agreed to take Paul on, and once when Paul went to Emile's house for the second time and he's invited to move in.

I'm sorry I didn't take better notes. If there are any questions I can answer that would help you figure out what I did wrong, please ask. 💜

Your characters are always so heartfelt, realistic, and unique. I love Emile so much. 😭 Even with the points system distracting the crap out of me I will play him again. Thank you again for sharing your stories with us.

(Sorry for being a pain 💜)

lol Sorry for the pain of the stats system! I love them myself as a player, but this has been hell to code, so my next games will go back to the old-fashioned affection points system through choices and that's it!

About the dates, the Louvre date takes place in the mornings (any day), the Eiffel tower in the afternoons (any day on the last two weeks, but I'll add it sooner to avoid skipping it if you get the good end early), dinner date is on Friday/Saturday night (it depends on if there's an exhibition event that week), and Montmartre visit is on Sundays. They should have gone to the Louvre the next day you asked, but I think that's the day Paul gets an unexpected visit that takes all the weekend...

Thank you very much for the feedback!

1. Some scenes in the story are available whenever the player wants to see them, in the right order, of course, but other scenes are fixed, like the art dealer appearing, the visit of a certain person, or Bernard coming to the riverbank with Emile on a Monday afternoon. The option of visiting the café unlocks when you go there either with Ferdinand or with Gilles. So my guess is you didn't go to paint with Emile that given Monday afternoon and missed Bernard's appearance? The fact that you meet with Ferdinand on Sundays doesn't affect that at all.

2. Definitely, a bug! Thank you, I'll solve that right now.

3. Emile's route ends when you get enough points for his good ending, so typically by the end of March. I'll add the option to go on dates with him more often during that last week of March, though, because it feels unfair that you asked him but you never get to see the date.

🥰💖🙏
