Hi there. I like how your games look and I definitely would like to play through a lot of them. Now may I ask a question since I currently became a new Steam user and I searched for your studio on Steam. I found some games, while they are available on itch, are missing on Steam (like this one). I wonder if it's because Steam's general policy on adult content? And then the only way to purchase those missing games is to buy them here?

Hi! Some of my games are short projects for game jams, so they are free on itchio: two of them are also available on Steam, but to be honest, it's not worth it because it's nearly impossible to recover the Steam tax.

That being said, My Burning Heart IS available on Steam. Unless you live in Germany, China, or other countries where games with NSFW content are banned, it should appear on my dev page there. BUT you need to have the access to adult content activated on your profile, and be logged in. In fact, if you buy the game through itchio you can claim a Steam key along with your purchase (which is the best way to support indie creators like myself, and to bypass Steam censorship XDD).

Just in case: https://store.steampowered.com/app/921900/My_Burning_Heart/

Hi! Thanks for your reply. I finally found out it's because of my country that I'm unable to buy your games on Steam. I tried to buy them here on itchio but sadly paypal also couldn't work (maybe also because of my country). So I wonder if I can buy Steam keys directly from you since it seems the only way I might get to play the games (╥╯^╰╥). Again, many thanks for your reply!

Hmmm... You can buy My Burning Heart also from JastUSA. I think they accept all kind of cards.

I did Rashid's good ending first, followed by Harun's good ending, and I definitely enjoyed the latter the most. I kept wondering how they could have a happy ending given Harun's attitude during the game, so it was a nice surprise to see how it all came together at the end. I definitely wish we could have gotten more with him, but what we did get was nice and I think Harun's was my favourite between the two. (Halim is cute but I found the growing relationship with his guard friend rather cute so I didn't want to get involved. ^^)

I added the link to the song on the page description! ;)

thank you!!!!

I really wanna buy this now since its on discount but you only do PayPal and there's no discount on steam😭

Hey! a question, so, i bought this game on steam like a year or 2 years ago i dont really remember and i was still using my old mac that ran OS Sierra. But since then i've changed my laptop to the Macbook with the M1 chip and now i just saw in my steam library that i can't play this anymore because the game isn't supported by the M1 chip. Can i maybe get a key or discount somehow so that i can finally play it on itch.io instead? Haven't really finished playing through the game at all :(

Of course! Please, write me to ertal77@hotmail.com with a screenshot of any kind of proof of purchase on Steam (the game in your Steam library, for example), and I'll send you an itchio key.

Fantastic! Will definitely send you an email! Thank you <3!

I just discovered you can only pay with paypal and not with a normal card. So disappointed ! Y^Y

Sorry! But you can buy it on Steam if you prefer, they take cards.

I don't have a Steam account. Too bad. I'll still support Ertal Games on itch.io when it will be possible. Thanks though.

Can you please make this game available on the app store?

Not without censoring like 40% of the game 😅

I'm really enjoying the game so far!

Jut want to tell you that I've found a synchronisation error between the spoken und written sentences in the German version of 'My Burning Heart". It happens in the garden scene with Adnan and Halim when they talk about the sultans children.

It starts with Adnan, saying "The female harem, huh? Are they worried some slave will produce a little bastard?" It doesn't fit with what's written at this point and continues until the part where Adnan asks: "So the sultan has children already. Isn't he married then?"

Hope this will be fixed. Thank you. : )

Thank you so much for telling me! I'll fix it as soon as possible.

I truly have been enjoying this game, it was far longer route-wise than I expected! I love the characters and the intricacies put into the story...

I just have to say however, that there is only one thing I want to recommend: As much of a bastard as Harun is, he deserves more than one CG. But maybe I'm biased since villain types are a weakness of mine, haha!

Hi! I have an issue, it won't let me save my progress.. Please help.

It's a rather strange error. Are you running the game from the itchio app, perhaps?

I just opened it from my laptop instead, works fine ! thank u

Hm... I generally enjoy this game but I do think there's a weird lack of significance of choices. For my first playthrough, I wanted to do a strict Rashid route, meaning I was very intentional about not choosing options that resulted in hearts with anyone else, but then scenes don't play out that way.

For example, the threesome scene with Rashid, Halim, and Adnan plays out the exact same way regardless of whether or not Adnan has ever looked at Halim as anything other than a good friend. That doesn't make sense to me. I get being like... lust drunk or whatever, but even being horny doesn't make having sex with a best friend you have nooooo romantic interest in something that wouldn't at least lead to some feelings of hesitation. It also kind of like... pulled me out of the Rashid route vibes. It would be one thing if the scene felt purely... transactional between Adnan and Halim, but the writing was such that it felt romantic between them even though that was something I'd been very intentional about avoiding, which is... disappointing.

I think the VN could've benefited from more attention to those kinds of things depending on the path the player's on (it also adds something to the replayability because even if the CGs are the same, the scene itself reads differently)... Something to think about for future projects, I guess.

Hi, thank you for your insight!

However, when Adnan reaches the threesome scene he's still in the common route and has never thought of Halim as other than a friend, no matter if he has opened up to him more or less, depending on your choices. Their feelings for each other don't take a romantic turn until his route has already started. During the threesome, there aren't really romantic vibes: by that point, Adnan is fond of the two of them, but nothing else.

The common route is exactly that, common, so of course the scenes will happen regardless of your choices. The affection points are only important to branch the game at a given point.

I LOVE the game. I bought it a few hours ago and have been playing non-stop for over 4 hours now. I've unlocked the Rashid and Halim endings. But, I can't seem to unlock the... additional good end with the villain (100% consensual!)

Can you guys make a cheat sheet or something, please? I'm a sucker for villains and have been wanting to bang Harun since the minute I read his info card.

Ugh! It's so frustrating! Why won't my sexy, evil and handsome Harun fuck me!? Seducing him is harder than studying for an Algebra test. lol

I'm still needing to get Harun's ending too.

(1 edit) (+1)

Not bad, not bad.

I haven't 100% yet but I wish there was a path to torment Harun. ;p

I am curious: did the game "Nessa no Rakuen" inspire you? If you haven't played it and can understand Japanese I would highly recommend it. :)

Oh, sorry, I haven't heard of that game! I'll lurk around the translation circles to check if it's going to be translated soon.

(+2)(-6)

The description is misleading. It says dub-con and a scene of non-con (that can be avoided easily)... The game literally starts out with a non-con scene? Like, you can't skip it, it isn't just an avoidable ending, it is the start to the whole game. Then the sultan tries to play it off like "oh I hope it wasn't too hard for you" "sorry you're just so attractive"........... gross....... Also important to mention, the game is riddled with the MC being abused and assaulted.

Sultan: Non-con right away but the MC "learns to like it"

Halim: Starts with non-con with the sultan, stuff with Halim is consensual, has more dub-con, non-con, and assault.

Adviser bad guy: Starts with non-con with the sultan... but didn't play his route but he assaults and tries to r*pe you in the other routes so... nah

(+8)(-1)

I'm sorry this game wasn't to your taste.

Check the difference between dub-con and non-con, please. It's an internet tag, not something I invented.

Interesting! I can pass you a long list of articles I used for documentation ;)

But cultural appropriation, you say? Tsk tsk

"Cultural appropriation" is a concept that only exists in the USA. Please, don't force your local issues on the rest of the world: interculturality is a thing and has always been. It's enriching for every culture involved, not theft or lack of respect.

Even if my depiction of the Middle Ages Arabian world is not 100% historic, I already stated it's well documented and it tries to recreate the atmosphere of the 1001 Nights, which might not be appreciated by the current Arabic world, but it was definitely one of the most beautiful and influential literary works in the Middle Ages, with a huge comeback during the European romanticism in the 19th century.

Bringing the 1001 Nights and its beautiful, fresh and racy stories closer to contemporary readers, especially the young people who tend to read more digital literary works than classics, can only be a positive outcome. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
